Call for participation in ‘Duplication’
Be Part of a Unique Light Art Project
Exploring Deepfakes and AI
Could your face become part of an artwork that challenges what is real and what is artificial?
Award-winning light artist Phil is looking for 60 volunteer participants to take part in a one-off filming session on Wednesday 29 July for an exciting new artwork inspired by cutting-edge research into deepfakes, AI-generated faces and digital identity. The artwork, which will be exhibited at Light Up Lancaster this November, will form part of a larger public installation exploring how technology is changing our relationship with truth, trust and reality.
No acting experience is needed – we’re simply looking for a diverse mix of people aged 18+ who are happy to be filmed. Your image and voice may be transformed and incorporated into a striking artwork that invites audiences to question what they see and hear in an age of increasingly realistic AI-generated content. The project is inspired by research into deepfakes and how they are blurring the boundaries between human and machine, reality and fiction.
Filming date: 29 July at The Storey
