Animals
By: Ivo Opl (CZ) and Suren Manvelyan (ARM)
Creative Team: ARTshifters
Animals brings visitors face-to-face with the wild, one gaze at a time. Built from Suren Manvelyan’s hyper-realistic photography and staged as land-art by Ivo Opl, 40 recycled smartphones scattered across the place become the living eyes of 16 species — from the sharp stare of a Caiman to the depth of a Chimpanzee’s gaze.
The eyes are alive and responsive: stay quiet and they hold your attention; grow loud or move too fast and they flinch, hide, or turn defensive, gone in an instant. Every encounter is fleeting and unrepeatable, shaped entirely by how the audience behaves in that moment.
Playful yet quietly profound, it’s a meditation on presence, silence, and our fragile connection to nature — built, fittingly, from technology’s own cast-offs.
